ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

2010 was a year offortitude, networking and of the historical celebration of our Silver Jubilee under the theme 25 Years of Gender Equality; Embracing the Youth and Looking Ahead.  With an addition of new staff, members, interns and volunteers, the work progressed impressively and the execution of programs was successful. We appreciate the sisterhood fraternity, partnerships, all stakeholders, staff and members of ACFODE that helped realize the success of this eventful year.

Our new work in the district of Apac, the training of leaders in the run up to elections in 2011 was only possible because of the invaluable time of trainers and researchers who added value to ACFODE’s resource.  This could not have been possible without support of district leaders, technical personnel and those who believe in the vision of gender equality.

ACFODE also visited development partners in Germany under the project ‘prevent sexualized violence’ and took part in the CEDAW meeting held in Geneva.

To our development partners Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Diakonia, International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW), EIRENE, Independent Development Fund (IDF), the US- Embassy (Uganda), National Democratic Institute (NDI), the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) among others, that supported our institutional projects and the Silver Jubilee Celebrations. We are very grateful and commit ourselves to effective partnership with you.

And in a special way, we thank Diakonia, EIRENE and IDF for the support accorded to the publication of this report.
